Design Competition 2010 - Winners

This recognition, in its XVII edition this year, is awarded by the Italian industry to North American architects and interior designers for the best commercial, institutional, and residential design created using Italian ceramic tiles.
For the Commercial category, the prize this year is to be awarded to Karim Rashid for the project “Prizeotel” in Bremen (Germany) created using tiles from Refin Ceramiche. Honorable mention is to be given to the architecture company Yabu Pushelberg Design for the project “The Room” (Toronto, Canada), created using tiles from Impronta Ceramiche.
The architecture firm David Schefer Design, LLC is to receive the prize in the Institutional category for the project “Robert Restaurant at MAD (New York, NY), that was created with tiles from Viva Ceramica, while honorable mention is to be given to the architecture company AR7 Architects for the project “UCCS Science and Engineering Building” (Colorado Springs, CO), using tiles provided by Atlas Concorde.
For the residential category the prize is to be awarded to the school of architecture Pentagram Architects for the project “Montauk Residence” (Montauk, NY) using tiles from Ceramica Bardelli, while honorable mention is to be given to the Baldinger Architectural Studio Inc. for the project “Tempe Urban Living” (Tempe, AZ), created with tiles from the Cooperativa Ceramica D’Imola.
