The Ceramic Tiles of Italy Design Competition 2008is a special awards program sponsored by Confindustria Ceramica and the Italian Trade Commission that recognizes excellence in the design and installation of Italian ceramic tile.
North American architects and interior designers are invited to submit commercial, institutional and residential projects featuring Italian ceramic tile.
Projects are judged on their creative attributes as well as how they meet their functional and technical requirements.
Guidelines
To enter a project, North American architects and interior designers or such entities as were affiliated with the project must:
a) Complete the attached submission and authorization form for either commercial, institutional or residential projects
b) Attach a minimum of 3 different photogarphs/slides of each project
c) Provide a brief description of the project (in addition to the descriptive information on the form), which should include:
- Location
- Description of installation
- Client's name
- Italian ceramic tile manufacturers featured
- Local distributor and installer involved
- Series name and colors of the products and formats utilized
- Project completion date
- Any sustainable architectural detailing
The information should be submitted on the letterhead of the individual or organization competing for the award or such other organization as was affiliated with the project.
Multiple entries are permitted. However, each entry must be sent in a separate envelope with a separate completed Submission and Authorization Form. Photocopies of the form may be used.
Entries may only be submitted for projects that were completed between January 2003 and January 2008. Entries depicting domestic and international new construction and renovation are eligible. Completed submissions must be received no later than January 11, 2008.
An international jury of design professionals will select up to 3 winning projects based on design excellence. The awards will be given during the International Press Conference, organized by Confindustria Ceramica at Coverings 2008 (Orlando, 29 april - 2 May 2008). Each receipient will receive a check for $5,000 and will be eligible for a free trip to Bologna, Italy to attend Cersaie 2008.
