The Ceramic Tiles of Italy stand attracted a large number of visitors during the first day of “I Saloni Worldwide Moscow”, a kind of Russian version of the Milan Furniture Show that will run until Saturday 13 October 2007 in the Crocus Expo Center in Moscow. Although this is third edition of the event, it is the first time the Italian tile industry has taken part.
To further reinforce the already excellent image of Italian products in Russia, Ceramic Tiles of Italy has set up an institutional stand showcasing the most innovative ceramic tile offerings produced by Italian companies together with the magazine Cer magazine International and a wide range of advertising literature and manuals for the sector. Its participation in “I Saloni WorldWide Moscow” is part of Ceramic Tiles of Italy’s strategy of promoting relationships with interior design and furnishing professionals.
The first two editions of the annual “I Saloni WorldWide Moscow” made a big impact in the Russian furnishing sector. The last event hosted 310 companies and drew a total of more than 20,000 visitors, including some 3,000 architects. This year’s show is featuring the best of the high-quality offerings from the leading Italian companies in the house furnishing sector, divided into the two segments “classic” and “design/modern”. A further Italian touch derives from the fact that the event is organised by the same management company as the eponymous Milan show.
Russia is a rapidly expanding and very attractive market for Italian ceramic tile manufacturers, particularly in view of the enormous popularity of Italian products. This is demonstrated by the figures: in the first half of 2007 ceramic tile exports to Russia (in the high and very high product range) totalled 3.1 million square metres with a value of more than 62 million euro. Italian tiles also command very good prices, close to 20 euro per square metre.
