Promotion of Italian ceramic tiles through the Ceramic Tiles of Italy mark is continuing in Russia at MosBuild 2007, held from 3 to 6 April 2007 at the Expocentr and Crocus Expo exhibition centres in Moscow. This show is one of the foremost forums for the building and construction sector in Russia, where the numerous exhibition sectors provide a complete overview of building materials.
This year, the show features a record Italian participation. About seventy Italian tile manufacturers are taking part, most of them in pavilion 2 Hall 3, where an Italian pavilion has been organised around an institutional stand. From the carpet along the aisles to the banners hanging from the ceilings, the pavilion is designed to highlight the distinctive characteristics of Italian excellence. At the centre of the Pavilion stands the Ceramic Tiles of Italy Info Point, a modern stand characterised by a white colour and large spaces which provides hospitality and promotes a knowledge of ceramic products.
A wide range of advertising material is available to visitors at the institutional stand. Alongside Cer Magazine International, the new Russian version of which is being unveiled at this show, the stand also features the ‘Products & Trends’ CD-ROM highlighting the main new products that have recently been launched, books on the use of ceramic in urban areas, and non-technical printed and multimedia handbooks.
The Russian market is very buoyant, with building investments that have increased at rates of more than 10% over the last decade, particularly due to the dynamism of the residential market. The tile market has also shown strong growth, with sales totalling around 137 million square metres in 2006 and further substantial increases expected.
MosBuild is an outstanding showcase for the established companies in the building sector and testifies to the potential of Russia, a country where Italian products are appreciated for their innovative, sophisticated qualities. The importance of the show, first held in 1995, is amply demonstrated by the figures from previous editions. In 2005 it hosted a total of 1,700 exhibitors from 36 different countries, while the 2006 event attracted more than 120,000 visitors.
