Contractworld 2007, showcase of excellence for Italian tiles
| | |
The promotion of Italian ceramic tiles worldwide includes an event in Germany. For the second year running, the CTI (Ceramic Tiles of Italy) mark has its own stand at the annual international show Contractworld in Hanover, one of the most important exhibition centres in Europe. This participation underscores the importance of the German market as an important commercial outlet for the Italian ceramic tile industry. In the first three months of 2006, Italian companies exported almost 14 million square metres of tile to Germany.
Contractworld, to be held from 13 to 16 January 2007 as part of Domotex, the leading international exhibition of carpet and other floor covering materials, is devoted to the contract segment (offices, hotels, shops, wellness centres and showrooms), privileged spaces where architects, interior designers and specifiers can observe all the new products catering for this kind of end use. In the last few years, non-residential segments have become key partners for the Italian companies in the sector. This is largely merit of the excellence of Italian ceramic tiles, which stand out for their innovation, high technical and stylistic quality and sophisticated trends. They are also extremely versatile: the products on display at Contractworld will highlight the dual role of tiles both as furnishing accessories with outstanding aesthetic qualities and as hi-tech building materials. In addition to the exhibit section, Contractworld also hosts a series of seminars for architects and an award devoted to the most innovative interior design projects.
The figures confirm the show’s leading international role. Last year’s event was attended by more than 48,000 visitors including architects, interior designers and decorators, opinion leaders in the sector who have helped Italian companies over the years to enhance the prestige and image of Italian tiles worldwide.
About ten Italian companies are taking part in Contractworld. Ceramic Tiles of Italy and the Italian Trade Commission ICE are organising a stand to showcase Italian ceramic tiles as well as an info point for visitors and market opinion leaders. The CTI mark has been promoting the excellence of Italian tiles worldwide for more than forty years and at Contractworld is organising a seminar in cooperation with the Berlin ICE office to be held on Monday 15 January at 17.00 entitled “Creating Emotion & Impact in Exhibit Design”. The speaker was Californian architect Mitchell Mauk, famous for having created the Ceramic Tiles of Italy exhibits at Coverings, Cersaie and AIA.
