Italian tiles proudly on show at Maison & Objet 2007

Another major expo, this time on French soil, will be contributing to promote the Italian ceramic industry on the international market. Ceramic Tiles of Italy, the institutional brand which, for over forty years, has promoted the excellence of Italian tiles throughout the world, will be participating with its own stand at Maison & Objet / Projects, the international home decoration show. The exhibition opened its doors from September 7th to 11th, 2007 at the Nord Villepinte expo centre in Paris, where the over 100 square metres of exhibition space also provided a stage for the flagship products of the Italian ceramic industry.

Now in its 26th edition, the Parisian event is a major date for architects, home, interior and furnishing designers and journalists, who flock to the vast expo halls to discover the latest trends in contemporary homes and lifestyles. The event, which includes a large space dedicated to furnishing products representing the state of the art in technological research, will be hosting some of the greatest names in international design, while its exhibits will express contemporary directions in design, which view the interior ambience as not just a place of shelter, but also a place of conviviality.

To further consolidate the well established foothold already enjoyed by Italian products in the French market, which has always been one of the largest consumers of ceramic products in Europe, the Ceramic Tiles of Italy brand and the Italian Trade Commission (ICE) have worked together to create a stand to exhibit a series of examples representing the latest developments in Italian ceramic tiles. The CTI institutional stand, hosted within the Projets section of the Parisian expo, will also provide information to visitors and market influencers, for whom the stand offers an opportunity to discover the variety, quality, superior style and technical innovation of the latest products of the Italian ceramic tile industry.

The undisputed prestige of this six-monthly event, which brings together the best in terms of fashion, home and lifestyle trends, is further confirmed by the record number of visitors to the 2006 edition, which boasted an impressive 11% increase in the number of international visitors over the previous year. The previous edition also attracted numerous journalists from all over the world – 3,636 to be precise – who also act as spokespersons for Italian ceramic tile manufacturers. The invaluable exchange of information between the industry and these esteemed information professionals has over time proven to them Italy’s prestige and absolute superiority in the ceramic sector. The merit of all this is entirely due to the excellence of the Italian manufacturing industry, which expresses superior quality, technology, style and sophistication through world class innovative products. This is an industry, however, that is also capable of extreme versatility: the use of ceramic products in the Maison & Objet part of the expo has been made possible by the dual nature of the tile - it is not just an item of furnishing, but also a decorative element of outstanding aesthetic value.
