Numerous Italian companies will be taking part in Mosbuild, Russia’s most important international-level exhibition for the building sector to be held in the Expocentr and Crocus Expo exhibition centres in Moscow from 30 March to 3 April. The total exhibition space of over 188,000 square metres will host more than 2,750 companies (almost half of which are from abroad) from various product sectors divided into the sections Buildex, Stonex, Cersanec, Country Living, MosInteriors, WinTec and Glastec. With more than 99,000 visitors, Mosbuild is the most important event for the building sector and reflects the sector’s strong growth potential in this market.
Russia continues to be a very dynamic market with investments in construction up by 9.6% in 2008, including 7.7% in the residential component. In spite of a slowdown due to the world economy and the fall of the Rouble, the prospects for the current year appear to be very good with an expected 3.8% growth in building activities and a 2.7% increase in ceramic tile consumption to a record level of 193 million square metres.
Tiles will be present along with bathroom furnishings and heating/plumbing in the Cersanec section, which will be hosted in Halls 1, 2 and 3 and Pavilion 2. The wide range of ceramic products on display will draw construction companies, installers, architects, interior designers as well as importers and distributors with sales networks covering the whole of Russia. The approximately 50 Italian companies taking part directly will be concentrated mainly in the Ceramic Tiles of Italy pavilion (Pavilion 2, Hall 3), where the high-impact design of the stands enhances the Italian products on display and has twice won Italian exhibitors the Mosbuild best stand award (Ceramica Sant’Agostino in 2008 and Fincuoghi in 2007).
The heart of the Italian pavilion is the Ceramic Tiles of Italy stand which with its 90 square metres of space will be the focal point of the Italian presence at the event. The institutional space will include an info point and a hospitality area for Italian companies. Throughout the pavilion the Russian public will be able to enjoy an all-round sensorial experience, from the typically Italian aroma of espresso coffee to a hands-on view of the most popular ceramic products in the world, from the bustle of the Italian square to the delicious taste of Italian food. On entering the Italian pavilion, visitors will see the institutional brand name on carpet, banners, stands and illustrative brochures.
This year the Ceramic Tiles of Italy mark is being relaunched on the basis of new rules governing its use. For all Italian companies licensed to use the mark, it will provide a guarantee of excellence for products with a high level of design capable of enhancing living spaces, manufactured using modern technologies that assure the highest respect for the environment, a strong focus on safety in the workplace and constant research into optimising the use of resources according to the highest performance standards.
Another important appointment is the award assigned for the second time by the Italian ceramic industry to a Russian importer/distributor who has stood out for loyalty to Italian products, competence and professionalism, solvency, fair business practices and turnover. This is yet another initiative aiming to promote an important market in which the Italian ceramic industry is continuing to invest in spite of the international downturn.
