Italian ceramic tiles took centre stage at the 25th Saiedue Living, the International exhibitions of architecture, interior finishings, building renewal and technologies. As is now customary, the excellence of world ceramic tile production was represented by Ceramic Tiles of Italy, the institutional trademark promoting the products of the Italian tile industry. Held in the Bologna exhibition centre from Tuesday 14 to Saturday 18 March, the show hosted more than 1,400 international-level exhibitors in a floor space of 160,000 sq.m.
The Services Centre in the Bologna Exhibition Centre housed the Ceramic Tiles of Italy institutional stand designed by architect Dante Donegani, an exhibit that garnered praise at the last Europolis (Bologna, Italy) and at Contractworld (Hanover, Germany). Again this year the space included an info desk offering visitors detailed technical information and the latest news on the ceramic tile industry, its products and the manufacturers. Visitors were also able to make use of a catalogue library featuring the promotional and institutional documentation of a large number of Italian ceramic tile manufacturers.
However, the heart of the Ceramic Tiles of Italy space was the exhibition of latest-generation ceramic tiles manufactured by Italian companies, products with cutting-edge design and construction technology. The products showcased in the exhibition were created through ongoing cooperation between the Italian manufacturers and the opinion-leaders in the sector, a partnership that has contributed to increasing the prestige and image enjoyed by Italian ceramic tiles the world over. In the various exhibition halls, architects, designers, decorators, builders and large clients had the opportunity to preview all the products that are expected to characterise the development of the non-residential building market over the coming months.
The exhibition programme also featured a series of outstanding ancillary initiatives, including in-depth scientific and design analyses based on large theme exhibitions such as 100% Colors, ‘Transparencies in architecture’ and an intense agenda of conferences.
