As a key player in the world of contemporary interior design, the Italian ceramic tile industry is once again taking part in SaieDue Living, the international exhibition of architecture, interior finishings, building renewal and technologies to be held in the Bologna exhibition centre from 16 to 20 March. After the good results of the last few years, this participation underlines the complete transformation of ceramic tile from a building product to a material with a strong design and fashion content that is capable of lending prestige to up-market floor and wall installations.
The participation of the Italian ceramic tile industry centres on the Ceramiche Italiane institutional stand, a location inside the Service Centre that was designed by Dante Donegani from Domus Academy. This stand will serve as an info point for the sector and Italian products and as a distribution point for the wide range of publications available: Cer Punti Vendita Italia, the ‘How and Why’ handbooks, and the manuals on the use of ceramic tiles in urban and public spaces. One aspect of particular interest is the area reserved for consultation and distribution of ceramic companies’ brochures, press releases and catalogues showcasing all the latest new products.
The large European architecture show, now in its 23rd edition, offers a wide and high-quality picture of products and innovative solutions for public and private building in the fields of doors and windows; continuous facades; floorings, coatings and staircases; renewal and maintenance technologies for buildings; curtains, blinds and systems; security and safety, intelligent systems installation and home automation; systems for the use of alternative energy; ecological building; tools and fixing systems; colour and decoration. Saiedue offers plenty of opportunity for analysis and debate. The Verticalia exhibition explores the latest frontiers in the area of products and solutions for continuous facades and interior partitions. ‘Large building shells’ is a cultural event held in the Service Centre featuring eight different construction solutions for continuous facades carried out in large cities such as Hong Kong, Barcelona, Paris, Milan and Shanghai. The exhibition sees the participation of leading architecture firms such as Valode & Pistre Architects, Jean Nouvelle, C.Y. Lee & Partners, Studio S.O.M. Cesar Pelli & Associates, Renzo Piano – RPBW, Studio Braccaloni, Renato Sarno Group, Corvino + Multari Architetti Associati, and Gregotti Associati International.
