Italian tiles are taking part for the first time in the thirteenth KazBuild 2006, the International building and construction exhibition which ended last 9th September in the Atakent Exhibition Centre in Almaty, the most important economic, financial, scientific and cultural centre of Kazakhstan.
The internationally important six-monthly event demonstrates the potential of a country standing at the crossroads between Europe and Asia. The largest of the former Soviet republics has undergone enormous growth in recent years, largely due to its wealth of raw materials, a key factor for ceramic companies which have steadily intensified their commercial relations with local players.
To promote Italian tiles in Kazakhstan, Assopiastrelle is taking part in the event with a Ceramic Tiles of Italy stand showcasing the latest Italian offerings with all their variety, quality and aesthetic appeal. Visitors to the stand will be able to pick up a wide range of informative and promotional literature and consult an extensive collection of catalogues of Italian ceramic companies.
The last KazBuild saw the participation of about 350 exhibitors and 15,000 visitors. At the current show there are about 600 companies from 29 countries (including almost two hundred companies taking part for the first time) in an exhibit space of 21,000 square metres. At least 18,000 visitors are expected during the four days of the show. This important event further bolsters Italian ceramic tile’s key role at an international level.
