In cooperation with the Italian Trade Commission ICE, the Italian ceramic tile producers’ association under the banner of Ceramic Tiles of Italy is taking part for the second time in NeoCon, an exhibition aimed at American interior design and architecture professionals to be held from 12 until 14 June at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago, Illinois.
The association is taking part with an InfoPoint in the Architectural Stone and Ceramic Tile Exposition section featuring a selection of Italian tiles of outstanding aesthetic and technological content. The presence of 18 Italian companies with their own stands further demonstrates the importance of this exhibition for the Italian tile industry.
On 13 June, Assopiastrelle and ICE are organising a technical seminar entitled “Cost-effective, Green and Trendsetting: Inspiring New Designs from Ceramic Tiles of Italy” aimed at interior designers and architects. Speakers will be Edie Cohen (Deputy Editor of Interior Design), Michael P. Johnson (a leading US architect who has been using Italian tiles for years) and David Ling (an internationally acclaimed architect and creator of major architecture projects in the USA, Europe and China), who will discuss the technological and stylistic aspects and innovative uses of Italian ceramic tiles in large urban architecture project in the United States.
After taking part in AIA for several years, Ceramic Tiles of Italy’s participation at NeoCon not only confirms the strategic importance of the United States market for Italian tiles but also reinforces the strategy pursued by the association for this crucial market.
The 2005 show drew more than 46,000 visitors (11% more than at the previous show) and hosted over 1200 exhibitors in an exhibition space of 170,000 square metres.
The next NeoCon will be held in Chicago from 11 to 13 June 2007.
